Bob Pedersen and Jason Freeman from the George T. Hall Company were the instructors for a two day Honeywell LCBS training program at The Country Inn and Suites by Carlson Hotel in Ontario CA. The class was focused on the products associated with Honeywell’s Light Commercial Building Solution family of products including XL10 application specific controllers for constant volume air handlers and roof top units, XL10 VAV zone controllers and XL15C programmable controllers for applications requiring specific control sequences that can be created by the installer. T7350H communicating thermostats and several other XL10 controllers were also presented in the class.
The class was presented in response to numerous requests from our customers. The students that attended the class represented Municipalities, School Districts, Industrial End Users and Contractors from Southern California. Also in attendance were representatives from Honeywell who provided some of the training materials (demo boards). Each student was provided with a GTH memory stick (USB thumb drive) that was pre-loaded with necessary software, technical bulletins, specifications, engineering manuals and support documents.
The Focus of the training was to provide the skills needed to successfully configure a LCBS DDC control system for a typical project. Many applications were discussed including VAV air handler and zone applications, water source heat and cooling tower applications as well as multiple RTU applications. In each case attention was given to connecting the entire system to the internet with the aid of a WebVision front end controller. It is an IP addressable front end interface that provides scheduling, trending, alarming and even e-mail advisories. In addition it provides the graphics and end user tools to make it an easy to use operator interface.
